Murder on the Interstate by Jean Henry Mead

While traveling I-40 in northern Arizona in their motor-home, Dana Logan and Sarah Cafferty discover the body of a young woman shot to death in her Mercedes convertible. The discovery leads them to a terrorist group who kidnap them, and the two women learn of a plot to take down the country. But the two intrepid sleuths turn the tables on their captors and save Dana's journalist daughter, who's investigating the homegrown terrorist group.
