The Philistine Warrior by Karl Larew


This novel, set in ancient Palestine, is in large part a retelling of the Samson and Delilah legend.  The story is seen through the eyes of a heroic young nobleman, Phicol of Askelon, who plays a crucial role in the endless wars of his time.  Delilah is called "Delai" in this novel, the Philistine equivalent of the Hebrew name.  She is an innocent teenager, beloved by her cousin Phicol, but caught up in the dynastic and military events of her people's wars.  Samson is the leader of Phicol and Delai's worst enemies.
